Local young people take to the professional stage.
Interface 13 will see students from dance schools in North and South Derbyshire, and 150 young people from across the county, taking to the professional stage at Derby Theatre on Monday 11 March.
The students will be performing alongside 17 other groups in Interface 13, which is part of Derby City Dance Week and has been organised by Dèda in Derby in partnership with Dance4 and the Derbyshire Schools' Sports Association to showcase the best young dance talent from schools and community groups across the city and county.
Each group has been handpicked through a tough selection process to win the opportunity to perform their work and each will bring their own creativity to the stage and the audience will be treated to performances in a huge range of different styles from contemporary dance to hip-hop.
The performance is a U.Dance stage two event – part of a national performance competition framework – with the winners then representing the city and county in a regional competition as part of the My Dance Festival at Nottingham Playhouse on 20 April.
Last year’s winners were Déda’s academy group, Bounceback who went on to win the regional and national competitions with extracts from The Rite of Spring – part of the Cultural Olympiad.
Tickets: £8, concessions £6.
