Local photographer, Daniel Wheeler, is opening a traditional darkroom and studio in the heart of Derby.
For the past few months Dan has been planning and building The Photo Parlour; a traditional darkroom and studio based on Monk Street, Derby.
The Photo Parlour will provide facilities for people to develop their own film and print their own images, as well as take part in a variety of workshops which will be welcome to all types of photographers - from beginners to experienced traditional photographers.
"The studio will be community based and I aim to offer services at a price that is fair and affordable to all. I'll also be holding regular exhibitions featuring work produced in the darkroom as well as work produced by local artists. I want to create an environment where people feel comfortable and can enjoy learning new skills and honing their craft."
There will be a grand opening of The Photo Parlour in April (date TBC) however Dan will be running workshops in the space throughout FORMAT Festival.
