There is a chance to be a part of FORMAT International Photography Festival by submitting work related photographs old and new to an evolving exhibition on display at the Chocolate Factory.
The ‘Derby At Work’ is part of FORMAT International Photography Festival and the project invites Derby residents to submit their photographs of ‘the city at work’. Incorporating all styles of photography, from portraiture to street photography, ‘Derby At Work’ is looking for public submissions exploring the theme of work in its widest sense; photographs can be images of the city at work, images from the workplace or colleagues; or friends and family doing work at home.
Young people are also invited to take part exploring work is in their lives and those around them, for example; walking the dog, tidying bedrooms and doing homework or seeing their parents go to work. Businesses can also take part in photo challenges for the opportunity to win a professional photographer to come to their workplace for a team building activity.
Submissions can be uploaded to the website: www.DerbyAtWork.com or brought into The Chocolate Factory venue, located off Siddals Road in Derby. All submitted photos will be printed out and attached to a map of city to create a constantly evolving exhibition. There is no charge to submit photographs or view the exhibition.
Archive photographs are also welcome. Working in partnership with Picture The Past, old photographs, negatives and slides which are submitted to the project will be added to a county-wide Photo Archive. There will also be an opportunity to meet a ‘Picture The Past’ Archivist and discuss the history of your photographs at a free drop-in session at the Chocolate Factory on Tuesday 26th March from 1:00pm until 4:00pm.
Derby At Work’ is part of FORMAT International Photography Festival at The Chocolate Factory until 7th April. All exhibitions are free to visit. The FORMAT website also lists full information on all exhibitions and events:www.formatfestival.com
