Swop n Shop, Derby’s unique charity clothes swop, vintage & craft fair will return on Saturday 20 October at a brand new venue – Banks Mill Studios – aiming to raise £2500 for the British Red Cross.
Volunteer organisers are hoping to attract more than 200 people to shop, swop and raise vital funds for the lifesaving work of the charity at home and overseas.
The charity’s June event saw more than 300 items from high street to high end fashion changing hands, and guests are once again being invited to bring up to 20 clean, good quality items to swop. A range of independent local creatives and businesses from Derby and Nottingham will also be present, selling an eclectic mix of handmade, upcycled and vintage clothing, accessories, homewares, gifts and more. Bargain hunters (or anyone forgetting to bring something to swop) can pick up a great deal at a pop up Red Cross charity shop, and enjoy tea and cake in an historic.
Alex Gadsby, community fundraiser for the Red Cross, says, ‘Swop n Shop is a great way to refresh your wardrobe, treat yourself to something lovingly made in the local area and pick up a bargain – all under one roof and while raising money for the lifesaving work of the Red Cross. We saw brands from Primark to Preen being swopped at the last event so you never know what treasures you might find!’
Funds raised on the day will help the Red Cross support people in crisis across the UK and overseas. Whether responding to international humanitarian disasters such as the East Africa Food Crisis, or caring for people in Derbyshire affected by fires, floods and other disasters, thousands rely on the Red Cross to be there in their hour of need.
Tickets are £3 and can be bought online at www.redcross.org.uk/swopnshop or by calling .
