New Mills Arts are now accepting submissions, proposals and ideas for ‘art-in-windows’, ‘pop-up galleries’, ‘buildings of historical/architectural interest’ and ‘art-on-the-street’ for New Mills Arts Trail 2013!
For two weeks in September the town of New Mills becomes an art gallery as the work of artists from across the UK is displayed in unusual spaces and places, in pubs and clubs, churches and halls, the barber’s, the bookshop, the florist’s and even the funeral parlour.
New Mills Arts Trail is organised each year as part of the town’s festival fortnight by the artist-led, not-for-profit New Mills Arts. The Trail and New Mills Festival and Lantern Parade 2013 will be held throughout the town for two weeks Friday 13th – Sunday 29th September.
Ranging from installations and exhibitions in pop-up galleries, art-in-windows, performance, workshops and much more the trail centres on the work of local and regional artists with emphasis on quality of work with visual impact to collectively create a striking display.
To register your interest send up to 6 images that are representative of your work to include approx dimensions of the work that you will displaying along with the medium and any other relevant information. Send up to 250 words about you and your work, you can also include links to personal websites if you wish.
Submission is FREE however; there is a £10 charge made to successful artists for inclusion in the trail brochure.
The deadline for this first stage is midnight June 30th 2013
