The University of Derby Creative Expressive Therapies (CET) students are celebrating the end of their degree with a final Art exhibition, based upon the theme ‘Statement as Image’.
19 students will be showcasing their work, ranging from painting to installations, photography and more, all of which have been created throughout their final year of study.
During their time on the course, modules such as work placements have been focused on using the arts to facilitate workshops to help benefit vulnerable people within the community, and so the artists will be exhibiting work which is influenced by their personal experiences, as well as being close to their personalities.
The art will range in methods and mediums to capture and inspire viewers to think more in depth about the particular statement. One of the artists; Mary, is delving into the statement of internal/external; our mind and memory in contrast to our outer selves. This is portrayed by an installation, a physicalized space that represents dusty memories.
The opening event on May 31st will take place at Britannia Mill Campus, at 7pm. You will be greeted with refreshments and the event is to be opened by practicing Art Therapist Marian Liebmann.
